Personal destiny, however, with its accompaniments of reincarnation, planetary influences, astrology, and palmistry still remain an unwanted stepchild in psychoanalysis. Yet, they can be central to psychoanalytic therapy with highly educated, professional Hindu women. EC is the capacity to delay immediate impulses in favor of long-term goals.
