After a brief discussion of the history and types of camps offered for those with bleeding disorders, the speakers focus on the following: health center guidelines developed for camps serving those with bleeding disorders; ways to address campers' other co-morbidities besides their bleeding diatheses; and the benefits to both the HTC nurse and the camper in this type of setting. We also discuss the importance of self-infusion teaching and ways to accomplish this at camp, the importance of teaching within the camp setting, how other health-related topics that support the care of children with bleeding disorders can be incorporated at camp, and ways to make the learning experience fun. | | MP3 | | $10.00 | | $10.00 | |
